
The provincial government of Punjab has decided to hire Artificial Intelligence (AI) to monitor traffic violations in the province. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered the provincial traffic authorities to utilize AI for the betterment of traffic rules in the province.

There will be two phases according to which monitoring will be done. In first phase not wearing helmets and seat belt will be monitored and in second phase challans will be issued for 24 violations of traffic rules. Chief Minister has also ordered not to remove carts of the poor’s but a card line should to set up so that they can earn without any hurdle, and it is also decided to place tyre teasers prevent violation of one way.
Moreover, it was decided to immediately remove temporary encroachments at 31 sites to improve the flow. After Lahore, the e-challan system will be started through across the province.
AI will help to control violations like triple riding, having tinted glass, one wheeling, not wearing helmet, not fastening seat belt while driving, exceeding speed limit, using mobile phone during driving, Operating an unregistered vehicle, no parking regulations and Ignoring line/lane/zebra crossing rules.
It should be noted that Punjab will be the first province in the country to use AI for traffic violation.
