The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on Wednesday, May 1, to observe Labour Day. The notification was issued by the Chief Secretary of Sindh, declaring the public holiday for the entire province. The public holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government, except for essential services.
Labour Day, also known as May Day, has been observed as a holiday in Pakistan since 1974. Meanwhile, the federal government has yet to announce the holiday, and people are waiting for the official notification.
