Mubashir Qadeer Abbasi President of Karachi’s dairy farm association has cautioned regarding the increase in milk prices in Karachi by Rs. 50 per liter.
He attributes this projected rise to the soaring costs of milk production, escalating prices of cattle and government carelessness regarding these issues. Abbasi calls for prompt action from Karachi Commissioner to grant a notification of new prices aligned with the elevated price of milk production cost.
He added, “if the authorities do not support us in this matter by May 10, stakeholders will take matter in their own hands and will Collaboratively agree on raising milk cost.
The Karachi Commissioner recently released a notification for the prices of essential food items and in mutual agreement with Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, a price control program has been start to monitor the prices.
As per the notice, dairy farm milk prices were set at Rs. 180 for wholesale and Rs. 200 for retail per liter.
