
The Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) has declared 19 water brand selling in the country that are unsafe for health due to microbiological and chemical contamination have been found in them.
The PCRWR has urge the Federal Government to conduct quarterly monitoring of bottled and mineral water brands and share the findings for public awareness.
The Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources has collected 185 samples of bottled water brands across 21 cities of the country between January and March. After monitoring the samples Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) Unveiled that 19 water brand are found to be dangerous for human health due to microbiological chemical contamination.
Injurious water brands including Hensley Pure Water, Pure Life, Natural Pure Life, Klear, Am Mughal Pure Water and Nero had high sodium while one brand Nero had high level of totally dissolve solids than the Authorized limit.
Moreover, Still, Orwell and Cleana were detected unsafe due to the presence of higher level of arsenic. On other hand Splas, Karakoram, Cleana, Heavenly, 7 Bro, Starley, Al Faris Water, Nesspak, Geo Max Premium, Nestlo Healthy Water, Nesspure, Pure Life, Natural Pure Life were found to be contaminated with the presence of bacteria as per The Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources report.
The PCRWR has advised the public to read the report available at www.pcrwr.gov.pk to know the status of the bottled water brand they consumed.
