Solar Panel prices have significantly decreased in Pakistan by Rs. 37 per Watt, which is more than half compared to Rs. 80 per watt in year 2022.
The cost of solar panel has dropped to less than 40% per Watt. The prices have fallen due to the higher supply of solar panel in the local market.
According to the dealers the cost of 5KW system has dropped by 2,15,000 while while the price of the system has seen a Rs430,000 drop.
The reduction is seen just after the The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G) suggested the Government to impose tax on both residential and commercial solar panel users.
The Power Division denied the rumors, calling them ‘baseless’. “But it didn’t deny reports of lowering the buyback rates for net metering electricity from Rs. 21 to Rs. 11 per unit.”
