Islamabad Schools Timings Changed As Temperature Rises

The Federal Directorate Of Education has ordered to change the timing of all educational institutes of Islamabad, effective May 20, 2024, till notice.

According to the notification, Secretary of Education Mohiuddin Wani, stated that, “due to excessive rise in temperature, the timings of the educational institutes have been changed, for the safety of teachers and students.

As per reports, Meteorological Department, said that, “the temperature is likely to rise between 41 to 42 degree Celsius, he mentioned.”

The educational institutes will operate from 7:30 AM till 11:30 AM from Monday to Thursday, while on Friday it will from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

On other hand, Punjab Education Department has also revised the school timings, aimed increasing heatwave. The revised timings will be followed from May 18, 2024.

New timings in Punjab schools will be:

  • Monday to Thursday and Saturday 7:30 AM till 11:30 AM.
  • On Friday 7:30 AM till 10:30 AM.

“The availability of water cooler, working of ceiling fans and other precautionary measures are also added in the notification.”
