
According to the reports, The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has took initiative to stop the sale of four medicines that includes two cough syrups, found to be substandard.


The decision was taken after few drug testing laboratory reports came in, as per findings eight batches of two drugs and four batches of four additional drugs as substandard.
The hazardous syrup includes Tussin DM suspension and one batch of Arp powder while other medicines includes Metrovan syrup Ann-Vill Injection and seven batches of Torex and Zond syrup were also identified as substandard.
DRAP claimed that Torax and Zond syrup cantained ethylene glycol levels exceeding safe limits posing health risks.
DRAP urges to stop the sale of these hazardous medicines and put immidiate ban to safeguard public health.
