
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the the retail price of cement has been increased by up tp Rs. 207 per bag in Pakistan.
The price of 50 kg bag of cementis is set at Rs. 1500, with highest rates in Peshawar and Lahore.
Previous week the cement prices were raised by Rs.120 to Rs. 1,340-1,420 per bag, within a week the prices hiked by Rs.155 per bag in Multan, Rs. 160 per bag in Sargodha, Rs. 160 per bag in Quetta, Rs. 163 in Bannu, Rs. 177 per bag in Peshawar and Rs. 207/ bag in Larkana.
In Karachi, Islamabadand Lahore the price of cement is increased by Rs. 150/ bag.
Cement rates in Khuzdar, Balochistan is raised by Rs. 23 per bag. Meanwhile in Gujranwala, Sialkot and Faisalabad the price of cement is set at Rs. 147/bag, Rs. 130/bag and Rs. 140/bag respectively.
The Government has imposed the higher federal excise duty on cement to Rs. 4 per kg as compared to Rs. 2/ kg in the previous year.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Friday announced a doubled rate i.e. Rs. 4 per kg for the fiscal year.
