Iranian President DR Raisi has arrived in Pakistan on three day official visit, aimed tight security in capital.
The President will be accompanied by his spouse along with high-level delegation, foreign minister, other cabinet members and senior officials. As per reports this is first visit by any head of state to Pakistan after the February 8 general elections.
Raisi wolud be meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani and National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and will also visit Lahore and Karachi.
The two leaders will join the inauguration ceremony of Iran Avenue (a highway) in Islamabad. The visit will strengthen Pakistan-Iran relationship, enhance trade, culture, agriculture and energy ties.
Prime Minister would also host a lunch for the Iranian President and his delegation.
Both countries have agreed to many commercial agreements including a stalled gas supply deal which was signed in 2010 to built a gas pipeline from Iran to Balochistan and Sindh.
