The Drug Regularity Authority has warned about the replica of medicine, Furoxime suspension 100mg/5ml, selling in the market.
The Drug Testing Laboratory Rawalpindi confirmed that the medicine is fake and of poor quality. Additionally,the pakaging of the medicine also shows a fake adress in Karachi.
The use of counterfeit medicine can lead to severe consequences and harm to the patient. The DRAG has directed to seize all the stock of the Furoxime suspension.
Furthermore, the DRAP advised to the remaining stock of the medicine ASAP. Moreover, the details of the supplier should be provided to the Regulatory Field Force to enables the removal of these products from distribution.
As per reports, the DRP has advised the people to stop using the medicine immidiately. Furthermore, any incidents should be reported to the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan/National Pharmacovigilance Centre. All medications should be purchased from authorized/licensed pharmacies retail outlets. It is important to verify the authenticity and condition of products before bying them.
