Recently Sindh Revenue Board has imposed the additional tax on the Netflix subscriptionon the video-on-demand streaming service through banks.
Netflix subscribers now must pay 13% of tax on IT services for paying subscription fee through debit or credit cards. Additionally, on International transactions there is 5% tax and 4 percent tax is set on card transactions, plus a Federal Excise Duty. On behalf of SRB, banks are now collecting the additionally tax on Netflix.
PRICING:
- Mobile: Rs. 250/month
- Basic: Rs. 450/month
- Standard: Rs. 800/month
- Premium: Rs. 1,100/month
The develpoments follows the notification issued by FBR to Netflix to recover huge amount of Rs. 200 million in tax on the revenue of two previous years. According to the reports Netflix earned Rs. 1 billion in Pakistan only in year 2021.
